1. About this notice

This Personal Data Protection Notice explains how Goolee Sdn. Bhd. (1483974-W) (“Goolee”, “we”, “us” or “our”) may collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal data in connection with our websites, products, applications, training, events, programmes, partnerships and related services.

This notice is intended to support our responsibilities under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709), as amended from time to time (“PDPA”). It should be read together with any more specific notice presented for a particular product, app, form, campaign or service.

2. What personal data may be collected

The information handled depends on your relationship and interaction with Goolee. It may include:

• identity and contact details, such as your name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number and postal address;
• enquiry, registration and communication records;
• order, delivery, payment-status and customer-service information, where applicable;
• training, event or programme information, such as attendance, preferences, feedback, photographs or recordings where notice or consent is provided;
• partnership, supplier, trainer, employment or business-contact information;
• limited technical information recorded by the production web server or hosting provider, such as IP address, requested page, browser or device user-agent, referring page, access time and server-error information; and
• other information you voluntarily provide or that is reasonably required for a stated purpose.

Where sensitive personal data is required, we will handle it only when necessary and as permitted by applicable law.

3. How we collect personal data

Personal data may be collected directly from you through emails, calls, registrations, purchases, meetings, surveys, events or programme participation. The website contact form currently prepares an email in your own email application; it does not submit that form to a Goolee website database. Information may also come from your organisation, an authorised representative, a programme partner, service provider, publicly available source or a platform you choose to use when interacting with Goolee.

Please ensure that personal data you provide about another person is supplied with appropriate authority and that the person has been informed of this notice where required.

4. Why we use personal data

We may process personal data to:

• respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
• process orders, delivery, payments, returns and customer support;
• administer training, events, community programmes and participant support;
• manage partners, trainers, suppliers, investors and other business relationships;
• operate, maintain, secure and improve our websites, apps, products and services;
• send updates or marketing communications where permitted, subject to your choices;
• maintain records, prevent misuse and protect legal rights; and
• comply with applicable laws, regulatory requests and contractual obligations.

If certain information is marked or explained as mandatory, failure to provide it may prevent us from completing the relevant request, registration, order or service.

5. Consent and your choices

Where consent is required, you may withdraw it by contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect processing already carried out lawfully, and may affect our ability to continue providing a related service. You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the method stated in the message or by contacting us.

6. Disclosure to other parties

We may disclose relevant personal data to parties that support the stated purposes, including hosting, payment, technology, communications, logistics, professional-advisory, training, event and programme providers; authorised partners; regulators or public authorities; and another party involved in a genuine corporate transaction.

External websites and platforms—including GoBarakah, app stores, Steam, social-media services and other linked sites—operate under their own privacy notices. Information you provide directly to them is handled by the relevant platform rather than through this website.

7. Transfers outside Malaysia

Some service providers or platforms may process information outside Malaysia. Where a cross-border transfer occurs, we will take steps required by applicable law to ensure an appropriate level of protection.

8. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and associated risks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably required for the stated purpose, operational needs, dispute resolution and applicable legal or regulatory requirements. It is then deleted, destroyed or anonymised where appropriate.

9. Accuracy

We take reasonable steps to keep personal data accurate, complete, not misleading and up to date for its intended use. Please notify us if your information changes or appears incorrect.

10. Your rights

Subject to the PDPA and applicable exceptions, you may ask whether we hold personal data about you, request access to or correction of that data, withdraw consent, or ask questions about its use. We may need to verify your identity and may request information reasonably required to process the request.

To make a request, email admin@goolee.my with the subject “Personal Data Request”. Please describe your request and the relevant interaction with Goolee.

11. Children and vulnerable individuals

Some Goolee products and programmes may involve children or persons who require assistance. Where applicable, we seek information and permission through a parent, guardian, school, organisation or authorised representative, and limit processing to the relevant programme or service purpose.

12. Website technology, local storage and embedded content

First-party cookies

Based on the current website implementation, Goolee does not set first-party cookies for website analytics, advertising, behavioural profiling, login sessions or marketing tracking. For that reason, the website does not currently display a general cookie-consent banner.

Server and hosting logs

When the website is published, its web server, hosting provider or security provider may automatically record limited request information such as IP address, requested page, date and time, browser user-agent, referring page and server errors. These records may be used for website delivery, reliability, security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention, and retained according to the relevant operational or hosting requirements.

Functional browser storage

The Goolee web game uses your browser’s local storage to keep game-score history, including completion time, number of steps and date. This information remains in that browser unless you clear it. The current website code does not transmit that score history to Goolee’s server, and it is not used for advertising or profiling.

YouTube and Google Maps

Some pages automatically load embedded content from YouTube or Google Maps. When such a page loads, the third-party provider may receive technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy terms. You can block third-party cookies or embedded content through your browser, although the video or map may not function.

External links

Links to stores, donation portals, social-media services and other external websites are governed by those services’ own terms and privacy practices. Goolee does not control the technologies used after you leave this website.

13. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our activities, services or applicable requirements. The effective date displayed at the top identifies the current published version.
